Recording Acquisition

Acquire traditional slack key recordings which are out-of-print or nearly out of print for building a catalog and making the music available through release of these recordings to public, airing through public radio and internet programs, and gifting to music education programs.  

This catalog can also serve as a repository for players who wish to bequest their recordings to the organization for preservation and perpetuation by making them available to public in perpetuity.

Documentaries

The Slack Key Music Center will create (or acquire) documentaries of players and the music to be shared publicly through airing on public television, gifting them to music education programs, and making them available to the public in a personal DVD format.

Slack Key Artist Development Program

The Student Slack Key Artist Development Program is designed to help developing artists move from playing at home for friends and family to sharing the music with the public - to inspire others, to spread the knowledge and history of the music, to nurture the Aloha spirit, and to help people feel better physically and emotionally.  Learn More...
